Broncos Add Transfers to Softball Roster

BOISE, Idaho – Karizma Bergesen and Isabel Gusman have each transferred to Boise State and will join the softball roster in the fall, head coach Justin Shults announced, Thursday.

A native of South San Francisco, Calif., Bergesen is a first baseman who redshirted at San Jose State in 2020 and then batted. 297 with 10 home runs and 51 RBI in 105 games (94 starts) for the Spartans over the last three seasons.

"Karisma is a very solid first baseman and I think there is a ton of untapped power for her at the plate," Shults said. "We can't wait to see her in blue and orange."

Gusman is a catcher who played four seasons at Jackson State. A native of Santa Monica, Calif., she batted .315 with 10 home runs and 58 RBI in 129 games (102 starts).

"Isabel brings a lot of experience behind the plate and has a very cool and calming presence" Shults stated. "We expect big things from her this year.
