
Broncos Place Trio on Preseason All-Mountain West Softball Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Coming off a 2023 Mountain West regular season title, Boise State placed three student-athletes on this year's preseason all-conference squad.
Senior pitcher Taylor Caudill, senior outfielder Jordyn Hutchins and junior outfielder Mykenzie Hanna each received the accolade.
As a team, the Broncos were picked to finish second in the Mountain West behind San Diego State. Boise State garnered one first-place vote and 57 points while the Aztecs received eight first-place votes and 64 points.
Caudill was MW First Team and NFCA All-Pacific Region Third Team in 2023. She posted a 15-8 record with a 2.72 ERA, 147 strikeouts, 16 complete games, four shutouts and two saves in 154 2/3 innings.
Hutchins was named to the all-conference second team last season as well as the NFCA All-Pacific Region Third Team. She batted .323 with seven doubles, a triple, 11 home runs and 40 RBI while slugging .646.
Hanna was an NFCA All-Pacific Region Second Team in 2023. She batted .357 with 10 doubles, a triple, 10 home runs and 30 RBI to go along with a .650 slugging percentage and .440 on-base percentage.
Boise State opens its season Feb. 9 against Northwestern in Tempe, Ariz. The home opener is scheduled for March 7 against Kennesaw State.
By winning the conference in 2023, the Broncos earned the right to host the 2024 Mountain West Championship. The tournament will take place, May 9-11 with the top-six teams qualifying.
The Broncos have won 215 games over the last-seven seasons, most in the Mountain West. Boise State tied the school record with 40 victories in 2022 during Justin Shults's first year. Last season, the Broncos won 32 games.
