BOISE, Idaho – Boise State junior Ashton Jeanty was tabbed to the Reese's Senior Bowl Midseason All-America team, the organization announced Thursday. The running back leads the FBS in rushing yards (1,031), rushing touchdowns (16), yards per rush (10.9), rushing yards per game (206.2), yards after contact (755) and missed tackles forced (50). The HEI2MAN candidate has helped the Broncos to a 4-1 record and the No. 17 ranking in the AP Poll.
Jeanty has scored more total touchdowns than 36 FBS teams and only 10 FBS teams have scored more rushing touchdowns. His yards after contact mark of 755 is higher than the total rushing yards number of all but two FBS players. He is the eighth player since 1996 to eclipse 1,000 yards in five games, a feat he reached in 16 quarters, having rested during the second half of the Portland State and Utah State contests. He has seven rushes of more than 60 yards, three more than any single FBS team.
Jeanty opened the 2024 campaign by running for a school-record 267 yards and six touchdowns in Boise State's 56-45 win over Georgia Southern. He followed that with a 192-yard, three-touchdown performance at #7/6 Oregon, the Broncos' lone loss of the season. Against Portland State, he tallied 127 rushing yards on 11 attempts in Boise State's 56-24 victory.
In Boise State's 45-24 win over Washington State, Jeanty was dominant, running for 259 yards and four touchdowns. He recorded 233 yards after contact and forced 18 missed tackles, running for touchdowns of 64 and 59 yards. Last week, the HEI2MAN candidate scampered for 186 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries, leading the Broncos to a 62-30 defeat of Utah State in the conference opener. This included a 75-yard touchdown, which gave him the Mountain West record for most 70+ yard touchdown runs in a season (4).
Jeanty's list of accomplishments is lengthy through five games. He has been named the Doak Walker National Running Back of the Week three times and Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week four times. He has a Pro Football Focus rushing grade of 99.8, nearly nine points higher than any running back that averages 10 or more rushes per game. Since 2013, no FBS running back has recorded a single-season PFF grade over 96.5.

Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
