Orange Captures Fall World Series

BOISE, Idaho - Team Orange exploded for seven runs in the first-two innings and made them stand up in a 7-4 victory over Team Blue to capture the 2024 Boise State Softball Fall World Series.

In the top of the first, Team Orange loaded the bases with one out when Mykenzie Hanna walked, Leah McAnally singled and Makenzie Butt was hit by a pitch. Hollie Farmer and Keely Gousha each walked to force in a run and Sophia Romero's ground out plated a third run.

In the second, McAnally drilled a two-run double and Butt followed with a two-run home run to extend the lead to 7-0.

Team Blue got on the board in the third inning with Megan Lake's second home run of the series. Hailey Vassalotti's three-run home run in the sixth cut the deficit to 7-4. Shannon Keighran relieved Brook Thompson (2-0) and fired two innings of hitless ball to pick up a save.
