Voted Best Attraction for Sports Fans for the second consecutive year
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State's BLUE Turf was named Best Attraction for Sports Fans by an online public vote in USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice travel award contest, the publication announced today. The BLUE at Albertsons Stadium, on the campus of Boise State University, was also the 2023 winner.
Last year, approximately 17,000 visitors from all 50 U.S. states and 37 countries set aside time to visit the attraction. Tourists and fans can view The BLUE on weekdays, on non-Bronco football game days, by visiting the Hall of Fame.
The BLUE is also home to Boise State football and several community events. In 2023, the Broncos had their best average season attendance, and so far in 2024, Boise State has hosted three straight sellouts and three of the six-largest crowds in stadium history. This season's total attendance of 111,893 through three games has helped Boise State average more than 37,000 fans at each contest.
The BLUE Turf at Albertsons Stadium was one of 20 attractions nominated that bring sports fans closer to the action as they pay homage to the people, places, and moments that make sports so compelling. The top ten winners in the category are below.
