Broncos to Host UC Riverside

WHAT'S NEXT:Â Boise State women's basketball will take on UC Riverside on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6:30 p.m. MT in ExtraMile Arena. The game against the Highlanders will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network and 670 KBOI AM.
MASSIVE VICTORY:Â The Broncos (2-0) are coming off a massive 50-47 victory over Colorado on Sunday. The win over the Buffaloes marked the second-straight season in which the program has defeated a Power 5/4 opponent, and its first win over a Power 5/4 team at home since defeating Washington 85-62 on Dec. 7, 2017. It also marked the first victory over a Big 12 team in program history.
MULTIPLE MILESTONES:Â Abby Muse reached a pair of milestones during Sunday's victory. The Brentwood, Calif., native became the 24th player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points, finishing the contest with 1,003. She also recorded her third-career game with 7+ blocks and moved into third place in MW history with 272 career blocks. She is also one of four Division I players over the last 20 years to have a game with 7+ blocks and 3+ steals in fewer than 20 minutes of action.Â
DEFENDING THE ARC:Â Boise State has defended the 3-point line efficiently in its first two games. The Broncos have the second-best 3-point percentage defense in the nation, with opponents shooting 8.1% (3-37) from beyond the arc. On Sunday, Colorado shot 0-of-17 from the 3-point line, snapping an 125-game streak with at least one 3-pointer.
FRESHMAN PERFORMANCE: Teryn Gardner scored a team-high 10 points in the win over Colorado. The freshman shot 3-of-5 from the field, including a 2-of-4 showing from 3-point range. She also recorded five steals in the contest, becoming the first Bronco freshman to have five steals in a contest since Marta Hermida did so against Washington State on Dec. 3, 2015.Â
THE OPPONENT:Â The Broncos lead the all-time series against UC Riverside 2-0, including a 63-55 victory in ExtraMile Arena last season. The Highlanders are 1-2 on the season so far, including a 63-53 loss to Fresno State on Monday.
