Broncos Roll Past Yotes to Start Season 4-0

BOISE, Idaho – Four Broncos scored in double figures as Boise State women's basketball cruised past College of Idaho, 86-34, Monday. The win completed a perfect start to the team's four-game homestand to open the season.

The start marks the second consecutive season that Boise State has started 4-0 and the third time in the last five seasons. The Broncos have won their first four games 11 times in program history - six of which have come under Gordy Presnell, who coached his 600th game as the head coach of the Broncos against the Yotes. 

Libby Hutton led the way for the squad, scoring a game-high 15 points off the bench. Natalie Pasco also poured in 12 points from a reserve role, while Tatum Thompson recorded her first career double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Teryn Gardner added 10 points for the Blue and Orange.

The Bronco defense came to play from the start, forcing six College of Idaho turnovers within the first five minutes. Thompson carried the load on the offensive end, scoring nine points in the opening frame to give Boise State an 18-5 advantage.

Hutton added to the attack, adding 11 of her 15 points in the second quarter. Boise State ended the half on a 12-1 run to take a 43-12 lead into the locker room.

Pasco netted six points in the third quarter and Josee Steadman added eight in the fourth as the Broncos rolled to the victory. 

Top Broncos
- Libby Hutton shot a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor to finish with a game-high 15 points in 16 minutes of action off the bench.
- Tatum Thompson recorded her first career double-double, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds. The junior scored nine points in the opening period.
- Natalie Pasco scored 12 points off the bench, shooting 5-of-6 from the field.
- Teryn Gardner reached double figures for the second time this season, recording 10 points in the contest.
- Josee Steadman added eight points in the fourth quarter.

Notables
- The contest marked Gordy Presnell's 600th career game as the head coach of the Broncos.
- The Broncos are 4-0 to start the season for the second-straight year and the third time over the last five years. The program has started 4-0 a total of 11 times in school history, six of which have occurred under Presnell.
- Boise State improves to 17-0 all-time against College of Idaho.
- Tatum Thompson's 11 rebounds are a career-high.
- Boise State shot 54.0% from the floor, marking the first time the squad has shot over 50% in a contest since shooting 50.0% exactly in a 68-64 win against San Jose State on Jan. 17, 2024.
- The Broncos shot 68.8% (11-of-16) in the second quarter.
- Boise State scored 62 points off the bench.
- The Broncos scored 44 points in the paint for the second time this season (Eastern Oregon).

What's Next
The Broncos will head to the Chase Center for a neutral-site matchup against San Francisco on Thursday, Nov. 21. The game will tip off at 5 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
