Explosive Second Half Lifts Broncos Past Mountaineers

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's basketball used a strong second half to cruise past Eastern Oregon, 87-57, in the first regular season game of the season.

Leading 36-25 at halftime, Natalie Pasco drained four 3-pointers in the third quarter as the Broncos (1-0) expanded their lead to 27 entering the final frame. Elodie Lalotte added to the onslaught, scoring 12 of her team-high 18 points in the second half.

Mary Kay Naro opened the game aggressively, scoring five points in the first period. Dani Bayes carried the load the rest of the half, netting 12 points off the bench in the first 20 minutes of play.

Boise State held a one-point lead after the first quarter, as the Mountaineers shot 53.3% from the field in the opening quarter. The Broncos locked in defensively in the second quarter, holding Eastern Oregon to just eight points. Boise State used an 8-0 run midway through the period to separate from the Mountaineers and head to the locker room with an 11-point advantage.

Mya Hansen opened the second half with six early points, helping the Broncos extend their lead to 17 midway through the period. Hansen then passed the torch to Pasco, whose 3-point barrage put the game out of reach.

- Elodie Lalotte shot 9-of-12 from the floor to finish with 18 points. She added eight rebounds in the victory.
