WHAT'S NEXT:Â Boise State women's basketball will welcome a heavyweight foe to ExtraMile Arena on Sunday, Nov. 10, as it prepares to face Colorado. The game against the Buffaloes, who are receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll, will tip off at 2 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on the MW Network and 670 KBOI AM.Â
THE OPPONENT: The Buffaloes (2-0) are coming off back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances and their third straight 20+ win season. Colorado has two victories on its 2024-25 campaign, including a 56-50 road victory over Wyoming to open the season. The two teams have only faced each other once before – two years ago, when the Buffs defeated the Broncos 71-48 on Dec. 4, 2022.
RETURN TO BOISE:Â Two familiar faces will be making a return to the Treasure Valley. Colorado head coach JR Payne (2005-08) and associate head coach Toriano Towns (2005-09) were assistant coaches under Boise State head coach Gordy Presnell, alongside current assistant coach Heather Sower. The quartet won two WAC regular season championships, 1 WAC tournament championship, and earned the program's second NCAA Tournament appearance in 2007 during their three seasons as a coaching staff.Â
TALE OF TWO ROSTERS:Â Boise State returns 92.9% of its scoring, the third-most in the NCAA. Twelve letterwinners return for the Broncos, including all five starters. In contrast, Colorado faced a roster overhaul coming into the season, with 10 new faces joining the team and only one starter returning.
MILESTONE WATCH: Abby Muse is looking to become the 24th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points, entering the contest with 999. The fifth-year also has a chance to move into third place in Mountain West history in career blocks (265), needing three to pass Paris Johnson (San Diego State, 2007-11). Dani Bayes also has a chance to eclipse 100 career 3-pointers, entering Sunday's matchup with 99. Â
LAST TIME OUT:Â Elodie Lalotte scored 18 points and eight rebounds to lead the Broncos past Eastern Oregon, 87-57, in the team's season opener on Monday. Dani Bayes and Natalie Pasco each finished with 12 points, while Abby Muse recorded 11 points, five rebounds and three blocks.
