GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its 2024 Volleyball Academic All-District Teams on Tuesday, and among those honored were three Broncos: Paige Bartsch, Kiersten Van Kirk and Elle Cotton.
For Bartsch, it is the third straight year that she has been recognized by the organization. It is the first CSC accolade for both Van Kirk and Cotton.
Bartsch, a native of Helena, Montana, is a K-12 physical education and health major and is on target to graduate this spring. This fall, she started in every match at right side hitter and was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region First Team and All-Mountain West for the third time. Academically, Bartsch is a three-time Academic All-MW honoree and a three-time MW Scholar-Athlete (3.5 or better cumulative GPA). The senior finished her career ranked third all-time in career points and kills.
Van Kirk, from Bozeman, Montana, graduated on Dec. 14 with a degree in business and has one year of eligibility left. This fall, the junior started as an outside hitter in 13 of 29 contests and was named to the MW Championship All-Tournament Team. In addition, Van Kirk is a two-time Academic All-MW and a MW Scholar-Athlete.
Cotton, a native of Elk River, Minnesota, is an engineering major. She played in every contest this fall for the Broncos. Academically, Cotton is a two-time Academic All-MW honoree and a two-time MW Scholar-Athlete.
The Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America), recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators, Academic All-America is the longest-running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions.
