Women's Tennis Faces First Road Test in Washington

The Broncos will travel to Seattle, Wash., to play No. 21 Washington, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. MT, in their first road match of the season.

  • WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State will hit the road to face Washington at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle, Wash., on Friday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m. MT. 
  • IN THE RANKINGS: Washington came in at No. 21 in the most recent ITA rankings, making Friday's matchup the highest-ranked opponent Boise State has played since taking on No. 8 Alabama in 2015.
  • SCOUTING THE HUSKIES: Washington enters Friday with a 4-0 record, defeating Eastern Washington (Jan. 13), Memphis (Jan. 19), Hawaii (Jan. 20) and Gonzaga (Jan. 27). Washington has found strong singles performances in its three, four and six spots this year, going a combined 12-0. The Huskies lead the all-time series against the Broncos 9-2.
  • 10-WIN CLUB: Doubles pair Pauline Ernstberger and Shauna Heffernan earned their 10th win of the season this past weekend with a win over Idaho State's Stefanya Shalakhova and Asem Shoybek, 6-4 (Jan. 25).   • NEARING 10: Nicole Discenza and Ella Piron are both nearing 10 singles wins this season and could reach the mark during this weekend's match. Discenza and Piron currently sit at nine victories with winning percentages of 69.2% and 64.3%, respectively.
