Broncos Host Fresno State Saturday

Boise State will complete its homestand with a matchup against Fresno State on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. MT. The contest will tip off at 2 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network and 670 KBOI AM.

LAST TIME OUT

Dani Bayes hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 12 seconds left Broncos (18-9, 9-5 MW) defeated New Mexico 58-55 on Wednesday. The win moved Boise State into a three-way tie with New Mexico and Wyoming for second place in the league standings.

THE OPPONENT

The Bulldogs (14-14, 7-8 MW) enter the matchup on a three-game winning streak after taking down Air Force, San Jose State and Nevada. Mia Jacobs is the leader of the squad, averaging 14.4 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. The Bulldogs are one of the top 3-point shooting teams in the league, drilling 34.5% of their attempts.

TATUM'S EXPLOSION

The last time these teams faced off, Tatum Thompson scored 15 of her career-high 21 points in the second half to lead the Broncos past the Bulldogs, 60-50. The performance led to the sophomore earning MW Player of the Week recognition, becoming the first Bronco to win the award since Elodie Lalotte on Nov. 21, 2022. The Woodinville, Wash., native was also imperative to the Bronco win over the Lobos, scoring a team-high 19 points off the bench.

Mary Kay Naro has a chance to move up in the records books. The senior guard enters Saturday's contest with 450 career assists, good for fourth-place in program history. She could potentially pass Tricia Bader (1991-96), who dished out 451 assists and current graduate assistant Jayde Christopher (2018-20), who recorded 457 assists.

DEFENSE GETS IT DONE

Opponents have a tough time putting the ball in the hoop against the Broncos. The team leads the conference in scoring defense (56.9 points per game), field goal percentage defense (35.8%) and 3-point field goal percentage defense (28.3%).
