Boise State Captures a Pair of Conference Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State redshirt senior Alycia Flores and freshman Sophia Knight were each honored by the Mountain West, Monday.

Flores batted .625 (10-for-16) with a double, home run and 11 RBI as the Broncos went 4-0 in Orem, Utah against Utah Valley and Weber State.

The Colton, Calif., native collected multiple hits and multiple RBI in each game, including a 4-for-4 effort against Weber State, March 9.
Â
Five of her 11 RBI tied the game or gave Boise State the lead, including a two-run home run in the fifth inning to snap a 1-1 tie at Utah Valley, March 9.

The designated player registered a 1.463 OPS to earn the first weekly award of her career.

Knight set the table at the top of Boise State's lineup batting .529 (9-for-17) and ignited an offense that scored 51 runs in 23 offensive innings.

She had a walk for a .556 on-base percentage and was 4-for-4 in stolen bases. The centerfielder also handled all seven chances in the field.

A product of Huntington Beach, Calif., Knight had multiple hits and scored multiple runs in each of the Broncos' four wins.

It is Knight's second freshman of the week and third weekly honor overall from the Mountain West.

As a team, Boise State has won seven of the 15 weekly awards in the Mountain West this season.
