
Sydney Groves Receives National Honor

BOISE, Idaho – Fresh off a Mountain West Player of the Week honor, Boise State first baseman Sydney Groves was named D1Softball National Player of the Week, Tuesday.

Groves belted five home runs and drove in 14 runs. She batted .400 (6-for-15) with a 1.400 slugging percentage. The sophomore homered in each of the four games.

Groves started a comeback against St. Thomas, March 15 with a three-run home run after the Broncos had fallen behind 5-0. Against Idaho State, she was 2-for-4 with a three-run home run.

Against Santa Clara, March 16, Groves homered twice and knocked in four runs. She blasted a grand slam in Sunday's victory over Santa Clara.
