Land and Bullington Named Southland Pair of the Week

FRISCO, Texas - Boise State's Sierra Land and Marlayna Bullington have been named the Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week for the week of March 13-18, the league announced on Tuesday.

This marks the third consecutive week that a Boise State pair has earned the award and the second time that Land and Bullington have received the accolade; the last time was on March 5. It is also Land's fourth weekly conference honor in her career.

The Bronco duo led Boise State to its third victory over a nationally ranked team in program history when the Broncos knocked off No. 20 Tampa 4-1 on March 15.

Last week, Land and Bullington went 4-0 at the Sugar Beach Bash in Hammond, La. The Boise State tandem defeated the top pairs from No. 20 Tampa and (RV) Tulane and the number one pair from South Carolina and Southeastern Louisiana. The duo is 16-5 on the season, all on the top court, breaking the program record for most wins on court one in a single season in program history.

Land and Bullington and their teammates remain on the road in Louisiana this week. They will travel to New Orleans for the Southland Conference Midseason Tournament, which will be held this Friday through Saturday.
