WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State men's golf will host Idaho in the Battle of Idaho dual meet, April 15-16, at Hillcrest Country Club. Both days will begin with an 8:30 a.m. start off the 10th tee. Fans wishing to attend must abide by Hillcrest's dress code.

FIRST TIME HOSTING IN AWHILE: This week marks the first home event for Boise State men's golf since the Broncos hosted the Dash Thomas Memorial at Banbury Golf Course in Eagle, Idaho, during the 2013-14 season.

THE FORMAT: The format for the Battle of Idaho is play six, count four – both teams will have six golfers with the four lowest scores counting toward the team total. Each golfer will be paired up with the equal seed on the opposing team, playing three rounds starting off Hillcrest's 10th tee.

Monday will feature 36 holes of play, while Tuesday will be the final 18 holes before the award ceremony.

LAST TIME OUT: Alex Talbot opened the Gaucho Invitational with a 5-below 67 – the best round of his career – and ended the tournament in a tie for 13th. The senior ended the tournament at -4 as Bronco golfers carded five rounds at par-or-better.

10 TIMES 2: Boise State had two golfers finish in the top 10 at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate. Alex Talbot finished tied for fourth – a career high – while Cole Rueck was tied for sixth. It is the first time Boise State had two golfers in the top 10 since having three at the Redhawk Invitation (April 4-5, 2022).

Talbot finished tied for seventh at that event.

MR. SCOTLAND: Rueck won the Genesis Collegiate Showcase on the second playoff hole to earn the tournament's exemption into the 2024 Scottish Open. Rueck will compete as an amateur in a professional field this July.

FOLDS OF HONOR: The Boise State men's and women's golf programs are honoring the lives of local soldiers during the 2024 season, head coaches David Trainor and Kailin Downs announced. Both teams have a bag honoring their respective fallen soldier that will be carried by a student-athlete at each event.

COACH TRAINOR, ROUND TWO: David Trainor returns for his second season as the head coach of the Broncos. Trainor led Boise State to a pair of top four finishes in his debut season, while fifth-year senior Max Charles earned medalist honors at the PING Cougar Classic – setting the school record for 36-hole score and 54-hole score in the process.

THE SQUAD: The Broncos return five members of their lineup from last year's Mountain West Championships, as well as two other members of last season's roster. Boise State also added freshmen Luke Cunningham and Luke Cushman, as well as sophomore Ryan Meyer – a transfer from Arizona.
