Sophia Knight Named to Freshman of the Year Top 25 List

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Boise State softball outfielder Sophia Knight has been named to the 2024 TUCCI/NFCA D1 Freshman of the Year Top 25 list.

Knight has started all-48 games for the Broncos this season. Her 69 hits lead the Mountain West and NCAA freshmen while ranking fourth overall nationally.

A native of Huntington Beach, Calif., Knight is one of our outfielders on this year's Top 25 list and the first Bronco since Alison Seng in 2018 to receive the honor.

She has set Boise State freshman records with 44 runs and 15 stolen bases (in 15 attempts) and her hit total has tied the school freshman mark.

Knight is batting .411 with a .465 on-base percentage and .959 OPS. In Mountain West play, she has recorded a 1.000 fielding percentage.

The Broncos host New Mexico, April 24-26 in their final regular season home series and return to Dona Larsen Park for the MW Softball Championship, May 9-11.
