CRESWELL, Ore. – It took several hours of waiting, but Cole Rueck is the champion of the Mountain West.

Rueck exited the course with the first group in a tie for second at 7-under par – thanks to 27-straight bogey-free holes to end the tournament. With the afternoon's groups coming into the finish, it was between Rueck and San Diego State's Shea Lague on the 18th green to decide a team title and the individual title.

Playing in the final group of the day, Lague's birdie putt just missed the hole to secure Rueck's victory – his first career medalist honor.

Rueck is the fifth conference champion in program history and the first since Brian Humphreys won the Mountain West in 2017. With his victory he qualifies for a NCAA Regional, May 13-15, at a to be determined site.
