Beach Pair Named Ford Student-Athletes of the Week

BOISE, Idaho – Ava Anderson and Emilia Guerra-Acuña, student-athletes from the Boise State beach volleyball team, have been named the Ford Boise State Student-Athletes of the Week.
Playing at the Broncos' No. 2 pair, Anderson and Guerra-Acuña finished 4-0 at the Boise State Beach Classic, March 29-30. The pair won two separate three-set thrillers over Tabitha Mitchell/Kimi Waller of UC Davis, while also notching two straight-set victories over Oregon's Jensen Kaelin and Ashley Schroeder.
Anderson, a sophomore from Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., and Guerra-Acuña, a junior from San Antonio, Texas, are currently on a 10-match winning streak. The pair is a combined 22-9 on the season, including a 12-2 performance from the No. 2 court.
The duo will compete again at home at the Boise State Tri-Dual on April 10. The Broncos (23-8, 6-1 Southland Conference) will host Saint Mary's at 11 a.m. before facing No. 18 Arizona at 3 p.m. Both duals will take place at the Boise State Beach Volleyball Complex and will be broadcast on the MW Network.
