Four Broncos Named to Academic All-District

BOISE, Idaho – Ariadna Briones Ginesta, Nicole Discenza, Pauline Ernstberger and Shauna Heffernan were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
 
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must play in 70% or more of the team's competitions and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better.
 
Briones Ginesta is majoring in business administration and played primarily in the No. 6 singles spot, where she posted a 4-2 record. The junior had an overall record of 13-16 on the year.
 
Discenza was an All-Mountain West and All-Tournament team selection, boasting a 17-9 overall singles record. She served as the primary option at the No. 5 spot with a 7-3 record. In doubles, Discenza had a 18-12 overall record and was 7-5 at the top spot. The senior earned a degree in psychology.
 
Ernstberger graduated with a business administration degree and garnered All-MW honors for singles. She posted a 12-15 overall record in singles and was the No. 1 singles option throughout the season with a 6-9 mark in that position. She also recorded a 20-13 overall record in doubles, finishing 5-0 at the top position.
 
Heffernan earned a degree in kinesiology and had a 14-17 overall singles record. She also boasted a 22-13 in doubles. She played primarily with Ernstberger, going 20-11 together. The duo ended the doubles season with a four-match win streak at the top position.
