
Sippel’s Career Comes to an End at NCAA National Singles Championship

STILLWATER, Okla. – Boise State's Sam Sippel's collegiate career ended Monday morning as the graduate student fell in the round of 64 at the 2024 NCAA Men's Tennis National Singles Championship at Oklahoma State.
Sippel – ranked 125th nationally in singles – faced off against Georgia's 36th-ranked Thomas Paulsell Monday morning in the opening round of the championship. The native of Germany battled Paulsell in a two-set contest, falling 6-3, 6-4. Sippel trailed 5-2 in the second before rallying to close within 5-4 but could not complete the comeback to force a third set.

- Sippel is the 12th Bronco all-time to compete at the NCAA Singles Championship and the first since 2014 when Andy Bettles participated.
- He finished his Boise State career with a 36-27 overall record in singles, 17-15 in duals while playing at No. 1 singles and 2-3 at No. 2 singles.
- In his final campaign this spring, he went 18-17 overall, which included matches versus 13 ranked opponents. In team duals, he finished with an 11-10 record at No. 1 singles,
- Sippel was a 2024 All-Mountain West honoree in singles and doubles.
