Spencer Danielson, Jonah Dalmas and Ahmed Hassanein heading to Las Vegas
BOISE, Idaho – The Mountain West has released attendees for the 2024 Mountain West Media Days and Spencer Danielson, Jonah Dalmas and Ahmed Hassanein will be representing Boise State at the annual preseason event.
Â
2024 Mountain West Football Media Days will be held at Circa Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The two-day media event includes one-on-one interviews with all 12 head coaches and two student-athletes from every MW institution. All 24 student-athletes will participate in interviews on Wednesday, July 10, while the 12 head coaches will be available on Thursday, July 11.
Â
Each football member of the Mountain West will send their respective head coaches and two student-athletes. Additionally, Mountain West commissioner Gloria Nevarez, deputy commissioner Bret Gilliland, coordinator of officials Mike Defee and Mountain West bowl partners will be in attendance.
Â
The league's annual preseason projected order of finish and preseason all-conference selections are expected to be announced during the two-day event.
Â
Spencer Danielson, Head Coach
The 2024 campaign marks the eighth consecutive year Danielson has been a member of the coaching staff at Boise State but the first full season he will bring the title of head coach. Taking over the reigns with an interim title on Nov. 12, 2023, Danielson became the first head coach in NCAA history to lead his team to a conference championship with an interim title, leading the Broncos to defying a 0.1% odds of even reaching the league's title game.
Â
Jonah Dalmas, Kicker
A two-time All-Mountain West honoree, Dalmas enters the 2024 season as a Preseason All-America selection that is poised to make history. Returning for a fifth season, the two-time Lou Groza semifinalist needs only 18 field goals to set a new NCAA career record for field goals made. Last year he ranked in the top 10 nationally in field goal percentage (.889) and most field goals made (24).
Â
Ahmed Hassanein, Defensive End
Hassanein is a 2024 Preseason All-America selection after earning All-Mountain West First Team honors last season. Also selected as an Academic All-American, he finished the 2023 season with 12.5 sacks, ranking sixth in the nation and second in the MW, while also ranking as the sixth-most in program history. He recorded at least 0.5 sacks in nine-straight games, the longest FBS streak since 2015.
