Broncos in the NFL: Week Two

BOISE, Idaho – Twelve former Boise State players are set to compete in the second week of NFL action. Last week saw 10 compete and they will look to build on their strong performances. Below are the Week Two matchups. All times listed are Mountain.

THURSDAY
Buffalo Bills (Khalil Shakir) at Miami Dolphins – Prime Video, 6:15 p.m.
Last Week: Shakir caught three passes for 42 yards and one touchdown in Buffalo's 34-28 win over the Arizona Cardinals. His 11-yard touchdown gave the Bills a 24-17 lead, capping a 21-0 run that put Buffalo in front for good.

SUNDAY
Jacksonville Jaguars (Ezra Cleveland) vs. Cleveland Browns – CBS, 11 a.m.

Last Week: Cleveland played all 53 offensive snaps at left guard for Jacksonville, paving the way for 128 rushing yards. The Jaguars averaged 4.9 yards per carry in their 20-17 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Las Vegas Raiders (Alexander Mattison) at Baltimore Ravens – CBS, 11 a.m.
Last Week: Mattison caught four passes for 43 yards and one touchdown while adding 19 rushing yards in a 22-10 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. His 31-yard touchdown featured a hurdle and a broken tackle, giving the Raiders a 7-3 lead.

Los Angeles Chargers (Scott Matlock) at Carolina Panthers – CBS, 11 a.m.
Last Week: Matlock contributed in all three phases, playing 18 snaps at fullback, 16 snaps at defensive tackle and 14 snaps on special teams. He had one target in the Chargers' 22-10 victory over the Raiders.

Minnesota Vikings (Brett Rypien) vs. San Francisco 49ers – CBS, 11 a.m.
Last Week: Rypien did not see action in Minnesota's 28-6 win over the New York Giants.

Dallas Cowboys (DeMarcus Lawrence) vs. New Orleans Saints (Cedrick Wilson Jr.) – FOX, 11 a.m.
Last Week: Lawrence had 2.0 sacks, 3.0 tackles for loss and four quarterback hits in Dallas' 33-17 win over the Cleveland Browns. He is tied for the league-lead in TFLs. Wilson logged 29 offensive snaps and 14 special teams plays in the Saints' 47-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. He made one tackle on a kickoff.

Tennessee Titans (John Ojukwu) vs. New York Jets – CBS, 11 a.m.
Last Week: Ojukwu did not see action in Tennessee's 24-17 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Washington Commanders (John Bates, Jeremy McNichols) vs. New York Giants – FOX, 11 a.m.
Last Week: Bates started at tight end and played 28 offensive snaps, as well as 15 plays on special teams. McNichols played 16 special teams snaps and had one tackle as the Commanders lost to the Buccaneers, 37-20.

Denver Broncos (JL Skinner) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – CBS, 2:25 p.m.
Last Week: Skinner was a special teams standout for the Broncos, making a tackle and recovering a muffed punt. His fumble recovery led to a Denver field goal, but the Broncos fell to Seattle, 26-20.

MONDAY
Atlanta Falcons (Avery Williams) at Philadelphia Eagles – ESPN, 6:15 p.m.
Last Week: Williams returned two punts for 28 yards in Atlanta's 18-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. His 28-yard return tied the league's third-longest of the week.

Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
