
McBride Earned Mountain West Weekly Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Avery McBride has been named the Mountain West Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

The redshirt sophomore earned the honor for the second time this season following a 2-0 win over Utah Tech (Sept. 12) and a 3-0 win over Southern Utah (Sept. 15).

McBride is the only Bronco this season to record more than one multi-goal match, scoring three goals over two matches.

The Idaho native was credited with the game-winning goal against the Trailblazers, taking two shots throughout the match.

McBride then recorded two goals against the Thunderbirds, one including a successful penalty kick.

This marks the second MW weekly award for the women's soccer team this season and the second of McBride's career.

The Broncos will hit the road for the last nonconference matches of the 2024 season. Boise State will face Montana in Missoula, Montana, on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 4 p.m. MT, before heading to Cheney, Washington, to face Eastern Washington on Sunday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. MT. Both contests will be streamed on ESPN+.
