BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State women's tennis team finished play in the seventh annual Barb Chandler Classic, Sunday.

In their first pairing as a doubles team this season, Ryan Kershner and Skylar Moody responded from an early loss to finish 2-1 on the weekend and place third in the orange draw. In singles, senior Ariadna Briones Ginesta went 2-1, defeating Andrea Cuquerella (Montana State), 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, on Saturday before taking down Victoria Grymalska (Idaho State), 6-3, 6-1, on Sunday.

Stefanya Shalakhova and Asem Shoybek of Idaho State won the top draw, defeating fellow teammates Millie Day and Sydney Morris in the championship.

"We are very grateful for the path she paved and the opportunity to run an event in her name."
"Our Team is learning a lot about ourselves and continuing to take steps forward toward who we want to be," said Roghaar. "This group is really beginning to see the importance of the vital process of their development. We had some very strong performances and want to continue to make that the consistent standard each and every day."
"It's a great week ahead as four of our players are going to compete at the Mountain West Fall Qualifier for a chance to get into the NCAA singles and doubles championships in November," Roghaar said. "We're excited to get on the road and compete again next week."

Maya Dutta, Lorelyz Marruffo, Zdena Safarova and Paula Schaefer will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada for the first edition of the Mountain West Individual Qualifiers, Oct. 2-5.
