No. 27 Boise State to Face No. 15 Georgia

  • THE MEET: No. 27 Boise State will travel to Athens, Ga., to compete against No. 15 Georgia at 5 p.m. MT on Friday, Jan. 17.
  • SCOUTING THE GYMDOGS: Georgia enters the week 1-2, after scoring 195.975 and taking third place at the Denver Quad Meet. The GymDogs beat Long Island (188.075), but fell to No. 5 Missouri (196.125) and No. 11 Denver (196.575). The squad sits 15th in the national all-around rankings, but second and fourth in the bars and vault rankings, respectively. This will be the fourth all-time meetup between the two teams as the Broncos aim for their first win over the GymDogs.
  • IN THE RANKINGS: Boise State is No. 27 in the RoadToNationals team all-around rankings, marking the first time this season that they have been within the top 30. The Broncos sit 21st and 22nd nationally in beam and floor, respectively. Emma Loyim holds the highest individual ranking of the team as she is tied-27th nationally on floor.
  • QUEEN OF THE FLOOR: Loyim earned her sixth-career Mountain West Specialist of the Week award and fourth that recognizes her performance on floor this week. She scored a 9.875 at the quad meet in Washington (Jan. 10) to put her atop of the rest of the MW floor performances.
  • RECORD WATCH: Emily Lopez earned her 14th-career bars win at the quad meet in Washington (Jan. 10), putting her third all-time for bars victories in program history. She now sits behind Emily Mulenhaupt (2018-22) in first with 22 wins and Lindsay Ward (2004-08) in second with 20.
  • FRESHMEN MAGIC: In their collegiate debuts, Kristina Shchennikova placed first among all freshmen at the Washington meet (Jan. 10) on bars with a 9.775 and Bridget Kemp placed third on vault, scoring a 9.675.
  • PRESEASON EXPECTATIONS: Boise State came in at No. 33 in the 2025 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Preseason Poll, the 14th time since 2010 that the Broncos have earned a preseason national ranking. The Blue and Orange received 341 points and were the only team in the Mountain West to place in the top 36. Stanford checked in at No. 14, followed by No. 26 Washington and UC Davis, which received votes.
