Lopez Wins Bars at the Wasatch Classic

SALT LAKE CITY – Emily Lopez took home the bars title as Boise State placed second at the Wasatch Classic. The Broncos (195.625) tied San Jose State (195.625), defeated Iowa State (194.575), but fell to Arizona State (195.675).
 
Lopez earned her second bars title of the season, scoring a 9.925 on the event.
 
Boise State started the meet on beam and posted a season-high team score of 48.925. The apparatus was led by senior Emma Loyim who showed off a 9.875 routine.
 
The Broncos moved to floor next with Loyim once again claiming the team-high score of a 9.850. The squad put together a 48.850 in the second rotation.
 
On vault, Boise State notched another season-high team score with a 48.775. Lopez earned the team-high on the apparatus, scoring a 9.800.
 
The Blue and Orange rounded off the Wasatch Classic on bars with an impressive 9.925 routine from Lopez. The team scored a 49.075 on the event to propel their overall score to a 195.625.

  • Emily Lopez was named bars champion for the second time this season and 15th of her career. She now holds sole possession of third-most career titles on bars in program history.
