BOISE, Idaho — Led by Javan Buchanan's game-high 19 points, Boise State collected its 10th double-digit win of the season and beat Nevada, 66-56, on Wednesday night inside ExtraMile Arena.
Â
Snapping a two-game losing streak, the Broncos (14-7, 6-4 MW) improved to 9-1 at home. The Wolf Pack (11-10, 3-7 MW), who have lost three consecutive games are 1-5 on the road this season.
Â
Notching his 13th double-figure scoring effort, Buchanan made seven of his 12 field goals attempts and added five rebounds in 30 minutes of play off the bench. Alvaro Cardenas totaled 18 points and five assists, while Tyson Degenhart had 17 points.
Â
In his seventh start of the season, RJ Keene provided a necessary spark for the Broncos. He tallied 10 rebounds, three steals and one assist for the Blue and Orange.
Â
The Wolf Pack were led by Nick Davidson, who was the team's lone double-figure scorer. He posted 18 points and shot 6-for-10 for the field. Kobe Sanders added nine points and Justin McBride pitched in with eight.
Â
The outset of Wednesday's game featured a slow offensive start for both teams. Upon reaching the first media timeout, the Broncos and Wolf Pack combined for four points on 1-of-7 shooting.
Â
After Nevada collected the first point of the game on a made free throw, Boise State responded with an 8-0 run. The eight consecutive points gave the Broncos a seven-point lead which turned out to be their largest of the first half.
Â
Boise State's defense was stout in the opening frame, holding the Wolf Pack to 20 percent shooting. Nevada didn't tally a field goal across the final three minutes and made just five shots in the half.
Â
Leading the way for the Broncos was Degenhart, who led all first-half scorers with 10 points. Capitalizing on eight Nevada turnovers, Boise State scored 12 points off those miscues and led, 28-24, at the intermission.
Â
To open the second half, the Broncos had three different players knock down long balls. Meadow, Cardenas and Buchanan all nailed three-pointers giving the team its first double-digit lead of the night.

Â
In total, the Broncos trailed for less than one minute in the game. Cardenas knocked down Boise State's first field goal at the 18:39 mark and the team never looked back.
