Pasco, Hansen Lift Broncos Past Aggies

LOGAN, Utah – Natalie Pasco and Mya Hansen both recorded season-highs, scoring 25 and 21 points respectively, to lead Boise State women's basketball past Utah State, 82-77, Wednesday night.

Pasco drilled a season-high five 3-pointers in the contest, while Hansen shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arc to help carry the Broncos (12-5, 2-2 Mountain West) to victory. Tatum Thompson added 15 points and five rebounds in the win.  

The Aggies (1-14, 0-3 MW) scored the first two points of the night, but the Broncos responded with 12 consecutive points to take a 10-point lead. Hansen paced Boise State in the opening quarter, hitting three 3-pointers to finish with 11 points and help the squad to a 24-15 advantage.

Utah State cut the deficit to four midway through the quarter, but Boise State extended the lead back to double digits following a Pasco 3-pointer. The junior finished with eight points in the frame as Boise State held a 39-34 halftime lead. 

Hansen hit her fourth triple of the night midway through the third period, followed by a stepback jumper from Thompson to give Boise State a 49-38 lead. Utah State trimmed the lead to six, but the Broncos scored nine consecutive points to end the quarter, leading 60-45 heading into the final frame.  

Pasco opened the fourth quarter with a pair of 3-pointers, but Utah State managed to cut the game to single digits with just over four minutes to play. Pasco answered, hitting a corner 3-pointer and a floater on back-to-back possessions to increase the lead back to 11.

Hansen hit a left-handed layup to give Boise State a 77-67 advantage with just over a minute to play, but the Aggies answered with a 3-pointer from the top of the key to stay alive. Utah State forced a turnover on the ensuing possession, cutting the lead to five with 38 seconds remaining. The Broncos sealed the game from the free throw line, making their last five free throw attempts to claim the victory.

- Natalie Pasco scored a season-high 25 points in the win. The junior shot 8-of-21 from the field and made a season-high five 3-pointers.
- Mya Hansen also recorded a season-high, netting 21 points in the victory. The junior shot 7-of-12 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc.
- Tatum Thompson finished with 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting and added five rebounds.

- Mary Kay Naro pulled down five rebounds in the win, becoming the only player in program history with over 700 career points, 500 career rebounds and 500 career assists.
- The Broncos scored 32 points in the paint, marking the 10th time this season the squad has scored 30+ points in the paint.
