
Rueck, Broncos Claim Victory in Oregon State Invitational

SALEM, Ore. — Cole Rueck (individual) and Boise State men's golf (team) claimed victory in the Oregon State Invitational on Wednesday.

Collectively, the Broncos shot 866 (+2), notching the 19th team tournament win in program history and second with head coach David Trainor at the helm. Shooting 2-under on Day 2, Boise State finished six strokes ahead of California Baptist and Oregon State, who tied for second.

Defeating 13 teams, the Broncos improved their fall record to 42-20-2. The team defeated Mountain West foes Wyoming and Colorado State, and in-state rival Idaho.

Rueck's top finish in the Oregon State Invitational signifies the seventh of his career, including back-to-back dual victories in the Battle of Idaho. He has collected consecutive victories in the Genesis Collegiate Showcase (2024, '25) while earning top accolades in the 2024 Mountain West Championship and 2025 Loyola Intercollegiate.

Posting top-10 finishes in each of the four fall tournaments in 2025, Rueck has 14 such placements in his career, tying him with Brian Humphreys and Hugo Townsend for third most in team annals. He is one behind Troy Merritt (15) for second.

Shooting a 70 and 67 in the second and third rounds in Salem, Rueck has shot par or better in nine of the 12 rounds he's played this fall. He's shot at least par 61 times in his career, placing fourth in team history.

Carding rounds of 74, 71 and 71, Ryan Meyer shot 216 and concluded the tournament tied for eighth. He collected his first top-10 finish of the season and the third of his career.

Gavyn Knight, who tied for 13th, shot 2-over across the 54 holes. His tie for 13th matches his highest finish of the 2025 fall slate and represents the ninth time he's ended a tournament in the top 25.

Joining Knight in the top 25 was Luke Cushman, who competed in just his second fall tournament this year. He shot 70-75-74 in his three rounds, garnering him top 25 honors for the fifth time in his career.
