10/2/2025 11:04:00 AM | Esports

Boise, Idaho - Boise State Valorant has started their season strong, defeating Syracuse University 2-0 at the Boise State Esports Arena. Despite roster changes over the offseason, the Broncos came out of the gate strong, with a mix of old blood and new talent prevailing.

Boise State showed up quick in Game 1, starting with a 3-0 lead, and eventually extending this advantage to a 13-3 victory. Wyatt Morrison (Master) was able to lock down Syracuse by himself on defense multiple times. The rounds he wasn't able to seemed to be in favor of Syracuse, but the addition of Kosmons Sutter (Kos) to the team proved otherwise, as he clutched 2 rounds this game—including a 1v4 retake.

The Broncos played clean, fundamental driven Valorant in Game 2, winning the game 13-4. Kos once again showed up in his debut match, anchoring the team with 3 clutches, and Skelesis scored an Ace during the second half of this game, further cementing the Boise State's strong start to the season.

With the win, the Broncos start the year 1-0 for the second year in a row in the PEC. Under Kelsey Mosers leadership, Boise State will now turn their attention to continuing momentum forward through the regualr season.

Fast Facts:
  • Kos recorded 5 clutch round wins across both games in his Boise State debut,
  • Griffin Applegate (Skelesis) scored an ace in Game 2,
  • Master led the defensive effort with multiple round shutdowns in Game 1,
