BOISE, Idaho — Boise State Valorant remained unbeaten in Power Esports Conference play Monday night, outlasting the University of Utah 2–1 in a tightly contested series at the Boise State Esports Arena.
The starting lineup of Peter Mittelbrun (Skies), Kosmos Sutter (Kos), Griffin Applegate (Skelesis), Wyatt Morrison (Master), and Marshall Hainer (Daimyo) played all three maps without substitution, combining consistency and adaptability to grind out the win.
Game 1 opened on Abyss, a map that has traditionally favored Boise State. However, recent map changes and strong gunplay from Utah kept the scoreline close throughout. After trading defensive stands, the match went to overtime, where Utah capitalized on late-round adjustments to edge out a 14–12 win.
The Broncos rallied on Game 2, Bind. Utah jumped ahead 9–5 behind a strong defensive start, but Boise State flipped momentum after the side switch. In one of the most dramatic finishes of the PEC season, Boise State secured a round by defusing the spike with just one millisecond remaining. The Broncos closed the map 13–9 to even the series.
With their unbeaten record on the line, Boise State and Utah entered Game 3 on Corrode. The Broncos leaned on professional-level strategies and disciplined utility play to hold off the Utes' late push, sealing the series with a narrow 13–11 victory.
