Cade Hall (Wuzy), Emiliano Flores (Durtho), and Preston Ferrante (Prstn) entered the match up determined to repeat last year's national championship match. Game 1 was a defensive battle from start to finish, with both teams trading shots and clears but finding little success. Michigan State broke through late, and despite a quick equalizer from the Broncos, a kickoff miscue sealed a 2–1 Spartan win.
Boise State bounced back in Game 2. After another scoreless first half, both teams traded goals in the closing minutes. With overtime looming, Wuzy capitalized on a defensive misplay to bury the winner and even the series 1–1.
Game 3 delivered more late drama. The Broncos and Spartans battled to a 2–2 tie before Wuzy once again found the heroics — soaring from the ceiling to score the game-winner in the final seconds for a 3–2 victory.
Riding that momentum, Boise State closed the door in Game 4 with a dominant showing. Wuzy exploded for four goals as the Broncos overwhelmed the Spartan defense en route to a 5–1 win, sealing the 3–1 series triumph.
The victory kept Boise State perfect in PEC play and marked a statement rebound against a long-time conference rival.
