
Broncos Knock Off Unbeaten Buckeyes in Game Five Thriller

BOISE, Idaho — Boise State Overwatch 2 handed No. 1-ranked Ohio State its first loss of the season Tuesday night, edging the Buckeyes 3–2 in a Power Esports Conference showdown at the Boise State Esports Arena. The victory improved the Broncos to 4–2 and ended Ohio State's perfect 6–0 run.
With both programs entering the week among the PEC's top contenders, the atmosphere was charged from the opening map.
Map 1 — Control (Ilios): Boise State came out firing, claiming both points in a clean 2–0 win to take an early series lead.
Maps 2 & 3 — Escort and Push: Momentum swung back to Ohio State, which used disciplined team-fight execution and ultimate economy to capture back-to-back maps and move to match point.
Map 4 — Flashpoint (New Junk City): Boise State refused to back down. The Broncos traded objectives with the Buckeyes deep into overtime before taking the fifth and final flashpoint to even the match 2–2.
Map 5 — Hybrid (King's Row): With the series on the line, Ohio State completed its payload in overtime, forcing Boise State to respond. The Broncos delivered under pressure, reaching the finish line with more than three minutes remaining. When overtime began, Boise State won the opening team fight, secured the first third of the point, and clinched the upset in dramatic fashion.
The win toppled the conference's last unbeaten team and marked Boise State's signature performance of the semester.

Boise State closes out the fall schedule on Nov. 18 against the University of Nebraska.
