BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Women's Golf Head Coach Kailin Downs announced the addition of Eva Becerril and Alice Koontz to the Broncos' 2026 class, Wednesday.

Becerril joins the Broncos from Cincinnati, Ohio, boasting a strong resume of accomplishments on the course. A Sycamore High School student-athlete, Becerril was a four-time first-team all-conference and all-district player and a two-time first-team all-state golfer. She was crowned the 2024 Ohio High School Athletic Association Division I state champion and finished fourth in the tournament in 2025.

"We couldn't be more excited to add Eva to our family," Downs said. "She brings a wealth of experience with the multitude of national events she has competed in recently. She exudes extreme passion for the game and I look forward to that passion extending to being a Bronco."

Outside of high school competition, Becerril earned three top-10 finishes in American Junior Golf Association events between 2023 and 2024. She also placed sixth at the 2024 Callaway Junior Worlds tournament and fifth this year in the same event.

"This opportunity is a huge blessing and I couldn't be more grateful," said Becerril. "Junior golf is great but I'm very excited to be able to experience college golf and start a new life in Boise. Boise will give me the opportunity to grow as a person and the coaches have the perfect balance of friendly and professional which made me feel safe and very excited to move and start my career as a Bronco."

Koontz comes to Boise from Del Mar, California, with an impressive junior golf resume. She recently competed at the 2025 AJGA Bass Pro Shops Championship, finishing fourth with scores of 72-70-70. In 2024, she earned two top-10 AJGA finishes and placed fourth at the Toyota Tour Cup at Palm Desert Resort. The previous year, Koontz claimed three San Diego Junior Golf Association wins.

"I knew right away that Alice was going to be a good fit for our program," Downs added. "She checked all of the boxes for being a well-rounded member of our team and I anticipate her coming in and competing right away. We are thrilled to have Alice become a Bronco."

Competing for Torrey Pines High School, Koontz helped her team capture the 2024 California Interscholastic Federation State Championship. Off the course, Koontz excelled academically, earning scholar-athlete honors all four years of high school and holding the highest grade point average on the team in 2024.

"I'm honored to join a program that my goals align so closely with," Kuntz said. "Getting to play golf amongst others as passionate as I am and under great coaching is an opportunity I am extremely grateful and excited for. The time and effort Coach Downs put into recruiting me really stood out. It's clear she really cares about her players and is invested in their success. I'm very grateful to have found a coach that I can learn so much from."
