Â
To begin the game, Fielder scored the team's first nine points and the Broncos led by five at the outset. Boise State made six of its first 12 shots from the field and had four players score in the opening nine minutes.
Â
With 7:45 remaining in the first half, the Broncos grabbed their first double-digit lead of the afternoon. Buchanan, who collected his fifth and sixth points of the game at that juncture, scored on a driving layup and was fouled in the process.

Quotable (head coach Leon Rice):
Â
"That's more like it, no doubt. Like I said before, you get what you need, not what you want. Apparently, they needed that because it woke us up to a lot of things that weren't good enough. We had a great approach and great response, and that's what it's about. Failure is not a failure if you learn, and it's not a failure if you don't quit and surrender to it and let it beat you down. We had great, great response, and we had three great days of practice. It's going to make us better. They know what happens when you don't and they know what happens when you do. They like that feeling of what happens when you do."
Â
"[Spencer Ahrens and Aginaldo Neto have] great moxie. To be a great player, you have to have that. They're tough kids, and they've been working and grinding and getting better. 'AG' came into the program in the summer, and he's working every day to get better. Same thing for 'Spence'. They just keep working to get better, and the things they weren't good at in the summer, they're good at now. It's a credit to them because they're coachable."
