Broncos Wrap Up Nonconference Schedule with a Victory

BOISE, Idaho – Tatum Thompson scored a game-high 23 points and Boise State defeated Southern Utah 81-66, Saturday afternoon at ExtraMile Arena.

Natalie Pasco added 21 points, including five 3-pointers, and Dani Bayes chipped in 17 for the Broncos (9-2), who never trailed in the game.

Thompson scored five points during a 7-0 run to help Boise State open a 12-4 advantage with 5:50 remaining in the first quarter. The Thunderbirds (7-3) used a 9-2 run to close within 17-15, but the Broncos led 20-17 after the period.

A fastbreak layup by Thompson with 4:43 left before intermission gave Boise State its biggest lead of the first half at 33-23 before Southern Utah went on an 11-3 run to cut its deficit to 36-34.

A driving layup by Mya Hansen just before the first-half clock expired put the Broncos on top 39-34 at the break.
