IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — Boise State wrapped its nonconference schedule on Sunday, defeating Saint Mary's, 68-67, at Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls.
The Broncos (8-3) had two players who scored in double figures. Drew Fielder scored a game-high 22 points on 10-of-17 shooting, while Javan Buchanan added 11 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
Paulius Murauskas led Saint Mary's (9-2) with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Joshua Dent recorded 16 points and six rebounds and Dillan Shaw pitched in with 12 points off the bench.
Boise State made its presence felt at the outset of Sunday's game. The Broncos netted five of their first eight shots from the floor and scored the first 13 points of the game.
Buchanan made three early field goals and tallied seven of the team's 13 points in that span. Conversely, Saint Mary's missed their opening seven shot attempts before collecting its first points at the 15:04 mark.
Promptly responding, the Gaels rattled off 13-straight points of their own to even the score. During the Saint Mary's run, Boise State went scoreless for over four minutes.
The Broncos, however, weathered the storm after surrendering the lead and trailing by three. Boise State quickly retook the lead and maintained it for the remainder of the half.
In the period, Fielder led all scorers with 12 points on 6-of-11 shooting. The Blue Orange shot 53.6 (15-28) from the field and led 37-32 at the intermission.

Boise State recaptured a double-digit lead on four-consecutive free throws by Dominic Parolin. With 4:24 left to play, the Broncos nabbed their largest lead of the evening and forged ahead by 14 on a deep ball by Dylan Andrews.
Down the stretch, Saint Mary's made it interesting. Slicing Boise State's lead to one, the Gaels had a chance to win the game on the final possession, but Andrews came up with a big steal for the Broncos, which sealed the victory.
