COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State's Dylan Jaen has been named the Mountain West Men's Tennis Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. This is his first career weekly honor.

Jaen had a breakout week for the Broncos, going 4-0 and helping Boise State sweep instate-rival Idaho State 4-0, followed by a 7-0 victory over Eastern Washington last week.

In the win over Idaho State, Jaen and doubles partner Taiyo Kurata won 7-5 on court three, tying the doubles team score at 1-1 and keeping the Broncos in the hunt for the team point, which they eventually won.

In singles, Jaen recorded the Broncos' first win, defeating his opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 to hand Boise State a 2-0 advantage in the match.

Jaen won both contests in the match against Eastern Washington, starting with the doubles competition and partnering with Kurata. The duo was dominating, winning 6-0 on court three.

The Hilton Head, South Carolina, freshman was just as dominating in singles versus EWU, racing away with the victory and not surrendering a single point in a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at the No. 6 position.

Jaen now has a 12-12 singles record on the year and an 11-11 doubles mark.

The Broncos will be back in action this Sunday when they host 22nd-ranked Michigan State at 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
