Makenzie Butt Receives Softball America Honor

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State's Makenzie Butt was recognized by Softball America, Tuesday.
 
A freshman, Butt was eighth nationally among first basemen in position power rankings.
 
Butt has garnered the last-two Mountain West Freshman of the Week awards. She is batting .397 and leads Boise State with nine home runs and 33 RBI.
 
A native of Garden Grove, California, Butt is tied for second nationally with 1.74 RBI per game and her RBI total is tied for fifth.
 
She is tied for seventh in the NCAA for home runs and is ninth with 1.00 walks per game. She leads the Mountain West with a .948 slugging percentage.
 
Against Le Moyne, March 1, Butt set a school record with three doubles in a game. She tied the single-game school freshman record with four hits vs. UC Davis, Feb. 9.
