BOISE, Idaho – Boise State sophomore Sophia Knight and freshman Makenzie Butt received national accolades, Thursday.

Knight was named No. 15 among outfielders in the Softball America Power Position Rankings and Butt was No. 10 on the D1Softball Player Power Rankings for first basemen.

Knight leads the NCAA with 46 hits, 2.30 hits per game and 1.60 runs per game. Her .575 batting average is second nationally.

A native of Huntington Beach, California, Knight is riding a school-record 22-game hitting streak and has reached base in 34-consecutive games.

The 2025 Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year is 8-for-8 in stolen bases this season and has recorded two outfield assists.

Butt has garnered the last-two Mountain West Freshman of the Week awards. She is batting .397 and leads Boise State with nine home runs and 33 RBI.

A native of Garden Grove, California, Butt is tied for second nationally with 1.74 RBI per game and her RBI total is tied for fifth.

She is tied for seventh in the NCAA for home runs and is ninth with 1.00 walks per game. She leads the Mountain West with a .948 slugging percentage.
