POCATELLO, Idaho – Olivia Bauer pitched 4 2/3 innings of no-hit relief and Boise State homered three times in a 9-3 victory over Montana at the Black and Orange Classic, Sunday.

Bauer (4-1) retired 14 of the 15 batters she faced, the other reached on an error, and struck out a season/career high seven.

Boise State (19-5) started the scoring in the first. Sophia Knight led off the contest with a single to set a Bronco record with her 38th-straight game reaching base.

After a Montana (5-18) error, Makenzie Butt hit her team-leading 12th home run and the Broncos led 3-0. Sydney Groves and Brooklynn Pettis each followed with a single. Two batters later, Groves scored on an RBI-ground out by Leah McAnally.

Mykenzie Hanna increased the lead in the second with her 10th home run of the season and 43rd of her career.

Montana chased Boise State starter Julianne Rose with a run in the second and two more in the fourth to cut the Broncos' lead to 5-3.

Boise State scratched out a run in the fifth and put the game on ice in the seventh courtesy of Pettis's three-run home run, her seventh of the year.

The Broncos wrap up the Black and Orange Classic, Monday against Washington. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m.
