Four Broncos Named All-Region

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Boise State softball placed a quartet of student-athletes on NFCA All-Mountain Region teams, Thursday.
 
Outfielders Sophia Knight (first team) and Mykenzie Hanna (third team), first baseman Makenzie Butt (third team) and DP/utility Brooklynn Pettis (third team) were honored.
 
Knight set the Boise State and Mountain West single-season records for hits at 103, a mark tied for 19th all-time in NCAA history. She became the first player since 2002 to record 100 hits in the regular season.
 
Hanna became the first player outside of a power conference since 2015 to have at least 70 runs, 50 runs batted in, 50 walks/hit by pitches, 15 home runs and 10 stolen bases.
 
Butt was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Year in a season where she set a Boise State record and tied a conference freshman record with 22 home runs. She became the seventh freshman in NCAA history with at least 20 home runs and 75 RBI.
 
Pettis closed her Boise State career batting .362 with 14 home runs and 45 RBI. Her home run and RBI totals were third on the team behind Butt and Hanna.
