BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's golf head coach Kailin Downs announced the addition of Chayse Gomez as the team's assistant coach. Gomez joins the Broncos after helping Cal State Fullerton to the NCAA Championships and a Big West title in 2024-25. She played five seasons at Oregon State, concluding her career with a 73.62 scoring average, second-best in school history.

"It's an honor to join a program that truly embodies a strong sense of family, unity and shared goals. I am inspired by the culture this program represents," said Gomez. "I am eager to dedicate myself to growing the success and development of our student-athletes, both on and off the course, while building meaningful connections and partnerships within this vibrant and welcoming Boise community. Together, I look forward to achieving great things and creating a lasting impact on Boise State!"

The 2024-25 Cal State Fullerton team reached several program milestones, including winning its first Big West title to earn an automatic bid to NCAA Regionals. The Titans led after all three rounds, with Big West Golfer of the Year Kaitlyn Zermeno Smith capturing the individual crown. At NCAA Regionals, Fullerton made a third-round charge to finish fifth by one stroke, punching their ticket to the NCAA Championships for the first time in program history. All-Big West first team selection Davina Xanh placed fifth to lead the Titans, who became the first No. 10 seed in a regional to advance.

"Chayse brings in a fresh, competitive, high level mindset coming off her playing career at Oregon State," said Downs. "I'm excited to hit the recruiting trail with her this summer and can't wait for her to meet the team and begin our 2025-26 season."

Gomez played at Oregon State from 2019-24, notching the program's second-best career scoring average at 73.62. In her fifth year, she averaged 72.31 strokes per round, ranking second in the school's single-season history. She fired a career-low 210 (-6) at the 2023 and 2024 NCAA Regionals, helping the Beavers advance to the NCAA Championships both years. Gomez was a two-time WGCA All-American Scholar and four-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection. A native of Yorba Linda, California, she earned her degree in English.
