Boise State Places 21 on Athlon Sports Preseason All-Mountain West Teams

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State placed a conference-high 21 players on the Athlon Sports Preseason All-Mountain West teams, the organization announced. The Broncos also led the MW with 10 first team selections, including Athlon Sports Preseason All-Americans Kage Casey (second team) and Jayden Virgin-Morgan (fourth team).
Casey was joined by quarterback Maddux Madsen, all-purpose player Sire Gaines, wide receiver Latrell Caples and tight end Matt Lauter on the first team. Virgin-Morgan, defensive lineman Braxton Fely, linebacker Marco Notarainni, cornerback A'Marion McCoy and safety Ty Benefield represented Boise State's defense on the first team. All 10 players were also named Preseason All-MW first team by Phil Steele.
All-purpose transfer Malik Sherrod was featured on the second team, as were offensive linemen Roger Carreon and Mason Randolph. Cornerback Jeremiah Earby and kick returner Dylan Riley rounded out the second team selections. Safety Zion Washington was the lone third team pick. The fourth team included wide receiver Chris Marshall, offensive lineman Hall Schmidt, defensive lineman Dion Washington, cornerback Davon Banks and punter Oscar Doyle.
