
Three Broncos Place Top 25 in Palouse Collegiate

PULLMAN, Wash. — Led by Cole Rueck, Gavyn Knight and Seth Jones, who each finished in the top 25, Boise State men's golf notched fifth place in the Palouse Collegiate on Wednesday.

As a team, the Broncos shot 829 (-23) and finished one stroke ahead of sixth-place San Jose State. After shooting 2-under in Round 1, Boise State posted scores of 273 (-11) and 274 (-10) in the second and third rounds, respectively.

Rueck, who shot under par in all three rounds, carded a 205 (-8) and concluded the tournament tied for ninth. He now has 11 top-10 finishes in his career, placing him in sole possession of sixth place on Boise State's all-time leaderboard.

Collecting the eighth top-25 finish of his career, Knight shot 70-68-68 in the Palouse Collegiate. His tournament total of 7-under par set a career best.

In his sixth career tournament at Boise State, Jones shot 7-under across the final 36 holes and posted a 208 (-5). He ended the event tied for 22nd and earned his first career top-25 placement in the process.

Boise State has 10 days before their next tournament. The team will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. and compete in the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational from Sept. 20-22.
