
Alex Kilby Tabbed Mountain West Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State's Alex Kilby was tabbed the Mountain West Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference, Tuesday.

"Alex has been really consistent in training and we are excited to see his development continue in his second year here," Boise State Head Coach Pat McCurry said.

The Cobham, England native placed first in the 5k at the Lewis and Clark Opener which helped propel the men's team to a top finish in the 11-team field.

Kilby recorded a time of 14:56.88 as the team finished with 17 points. The Broncos concluded the race 32 points in front of runner-up Portland.

The award marks Kilby's first MW weekly accolade of his career. The last Boise State men's cross country student-athlete to garner Mountain West Athlete of the Week honors was Ned Potter in 2023.

Boise State will travel to South Bend, Ind. on Oct. 3 to compete in the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame.
