WHAT'S NEXT: The Boise State women's golf team will play its second event of the 2025 fall season at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic in Wolcott, Colorado, Sept. 22-24.

THE FIELD: Boise State, Arizona, Campbell, Denver, Eastern Michigan, East Tennessee State, Jacksonville State, Kansas, Little Rock, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Mercer, New Mexico State, NAU, North Carolina Asheville, North Carolina at Charlotte, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, UC Irvine, USC.

LAST TIME OUT: The Broncos finished sixth in a 20-team field at the fall opener, posting the third-most birdies in the field (41).

TOURNAMENT SUCCESS: Boise State competed in the 2024 Golfweek Red Sky Classic, where the team recorded a school-record 856 (-8) and finished second overall. Teal Matsueda, Brooke Patterson and Jillian Hui each placed in the top 20.

BACK LIKE SHE NEVER LEFT: Leia Chung, a two-time Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week and the program's all-time leader in career scoring average, returned to competition at the Golfweek Fall Challenge after missing the 2024-25 season due to injury. Chung won the tournament, setting program and tournament records for a 54-hole score (199, -14). She finished nine strokes ahead of the field, tying the largest margin of victory in program history, set by Acey Erlandson in 1999.

YEAR FIVE AT THE HELM: Head coach Kailin Downs returns for her fifth season leading the Broncos. Last year, she guided the team to the second-best scoring average in program history (296.74), and set school records for lowest 36-hole score (566, -10) and lowest 54-hole score (846, -18). Downs recently signed a two-year contract extension, keeping her with the program through the 2028 season.

ALL-CONFERENCE RETURNER: Matsueda earned All-Mountain West Second Team honors for the 2024-25 season, becoming the first Bronco since 2018-19 to receive all-conference recognition.

IN THE RECORD BOOK: Several returning players are featured prominently in the Boise State record book. Chung holds the second, fourth, and seventh-lowest individual 36-hole scores in program history while Patterson is tied for fifth and ninth. Chung also holds five of the program's top 10 three-round scores, including a program record 199(-14). In career scoring average, Chung (72.90), Matsueda (73.49), and Hui (75.24) rank first, second, and fourth, respectively.
