Three Straight Sweeps: Broncos down Huskers 2-0

BOISE, Idaho — Boise State Valorant opened Spring Week 1 with a clean 2–0 win over Nebraska, taking Corrode 13–4 and Bind 13–3 in a series that never fully slipped out of the Broncos' control. While the scorelines were decisive, the win was less about overwhelming firepower and more about consistency, disciplined mid-round play, and Nebraska's inability to convert early advantages into full rounds.

Game 1 – Corrode
Boise State created separation early on Corrode and never allowed Nebraska to regain footing. The Broncos traded efficiently, favored post-plant scenarios, and consistently forced Nebraska into reactive positions. Nebraska found occasional picks in isolated fights, but struggled to translate those openings into coordinated site control or successful retakes.

Peter Mittelbrun (Skies) paced the server with 21 kills and eight assists, impacting rounds through smart positioning and late-round presence rather than forcing engagements. Austin Julian (Prestige) followed closely with 20 kills and added three bomb plants as Boise leaned into structured executes instead of prolonged defaults.

Nebraska's most consistent resistance came from Andrei Adecer, who finished 16–15 with five assists, but sustained pressure never materialized behind him. Boise closed the map with a clear edge in overall production, while Nebraska ended Corrode without a single successful plant — a telling indicator of how rarely they were allowed to stabilize a site.

Game 2 – Bind
Bind followed a similar script, though the margin widened more quickly. Boise State controlled tempo through early spike placements and decisive site hits, repeatedly forcing Nebraska into retake situations where time and utility were working against them.

Mittelbrun again topped the scoreboard with 27 kills, capitalizing on mid-round pressure and cleanup rather than constant first contact. Julian shifted into a more objective-focused role, recording eight bomb plants that often secured round conditions even when the stat line wasn't the loudest.

Nebraska showed brief flashes — Seth Woodward reached 14 kills — but momentum never swung far enough to threaten a comeback. Boise's deaths remained low across the board, highlighted by Kosmos Sutter's 10–3 line, reflecting how rarely Nebraska was able to force chaotic fights.
