BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's basketball defeated Fresno State 60-52 at ExtraMile Arena, Wednesday night.

Libby Hutton led the Broncos (15-5, 6-3 Mountain West) to their fifth-straight win, collecting 25 points and nine rebounds.

Hutton opened the scoring with a layup off a pass from Dani Bayes at the 9:08 mark. Fresno State's (10-10, 4-5) Danae Powell responded with a three-pointer to put the Bulldogs on the board. Jaisa Gamble followed with another layup, giving Fresno State its first lead of the night at 5-2.

The Bulldogs then went cold for three minutes as Tatum Thompson and Hutton each converted layups, before Avery Watkins broke the drought. Boise State followed with its own nearly three-minute scoring drought until another basket from Tatum Thompson. The Broncos held a 12-10 lead after the first quarter.

Indiya Clarke scored the first field goal of the second quarter, tying the game at 12-12. Fresno State went scoreless for over three minutes, during which Boise State went on an 8-0 run that included 3-pointers from Morgan Maldonado and Mya Hansen, along with a Hutton layup. Watkins sparked a 10-0 run for the Bulldogs with a layup, and Morelia Chavez capped the run with a triple to give Fresno State a 26-24 lead heading into halftime.

Coming out of the break, Hutton tied the score with a pair of free throws. Bayes followed with a 3-pointer to put the Broncos ahead 29-26. Watkins answered with a basket before Bayes hit two more three-pointers to start an 8-0 Boise State run. Chavez ended the Broncos' run with a three of her own. The Broncos went the final two and a half minutes of the quarter without a field goal but maintained a 46-39 advantage heading into the fourth.

Hutton once again opened the quarter, again at the free throw line, before adding a layup to reach 20 points. Bayes scored on a layup at the 6:43 mark, but Fresno State responded with a quick 7-0 run over 52 seconds to cut the deficit to 56-50. Hutton answered with another layup, and despite going without a field goal for over five minutes, the Broncos held on for a 60-52 victory.

Quotables
"We beat an athletic team and that's one of the things we've struggled with," head coach Gordy Presnell said. "Now we go play another athletic team that beat us at our place (Grand Canyon). We got to find some ways to get Natalie (Pasco) some shots and try our best to do that. But at 15-5, we feel good about our group."
